Joseph "Joe" Vinciguerra

July 19, 1938 - March 20, 2022

Joseph ‘Joe’ Vinciguerra Sr. died on Sunday, March 20th after a very long
battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  He was born in Philadelphia in 1938, the
son of Italian Immigrants. Joe and his twin brother Tony were the youngest of
five children.  Joe met his wife, Joyce, in 1956 and on February 1st, 1958 they were married.  Together they raised five
boys.  Joe worked at Midvale Steel in Philadelphia for 12 years before its
closing, then at Exide Batteries, and finally at Riegel Paper Mill for
twenty-four years before retiring in 2000.

Joe was the ultimate family man, working multiple jobs to make sure his family was taken care of.  His true joy was his grandchildren and later his great grandchildren.  Joe was always building something, usually for the kids.  From the tree house forts, fully equipped with a working telephone to call grandmom, a Flintstone car made from an old water heater or the dune buggy he built using parts from a Volkswagen beetle, there were always new inventions for the kids to play with. No one was bored at Poppop’s!

Joe is survived by his wife of sixty-four years; Joyce.  In addition are his sister Theresa Canuso of Philadelphia and his twin brother Tony Vinciguerra, of Lady Lake Florida.  Preceded in death are his Sister Mary Donato and Thomas Vinciguerra both of Philadelphia.  Joe is survived by his five sons Joseph Jr and his wife Debbie, New Britain, Michael and his wife Robin of Kintnersville, Robert and his wife Tammy of Kintnersville, Donald and his wife Teresa of Alburtis, and Dennis and his wife Shannon of Chester Springs.  Joe is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Kristen (Rich) Myers Fort Benning GA, Michael John Vinciguerra (Jennifer) Kintnersville, Christopher Vinciguerra (Sarah) Perkasie, Liz (Jerod) Lake Middletown CT, Jennifer Vinciguerra New Britain PA, Allison Vinciguerra Alburtis PA, Amanda Vinciguerra Kintnersville PA, Nicholas Vinciguerra Kintnersville PA, Kimberly Vinciguerra Kintnersville PA, Ella Vinciguerra Chester Springs PA and Olivia Vinciguerra Chester Springs PA. Joe also has 7 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer contributions be made in Joe’s Memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation (800) 473-4636, mailing address: 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami FL 33131 or the Michael
