Daniel Lespron Ruiz Sr

November 06, 1937 - January 25, 2023

Pastor Daniel L. Ruiz, also known as "Cusi," passed away on January 25th, 2023, at the age of 85. He was born on November 6th, 1937, the son of Demetrio "Tito" Ruiz and Inocente "Chente" Ruiz. Cusi was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and dedicated his life to serving God and his community.

Cusi was married to Thelma Duarte in 1959, and together they had six children, including Daniel "Cachi" Ruiz Jr., Denise Ruiz, Anthony Ruiz, Tammy Murcia, Richard Ruiz, and Michelle Ruiz. Although their relationship ended in 1982, they remained close friends until the end of his life. In 1984, Cusi married the love of his life, Rachel Molina, and they had two children, Nathan Ruiz, who is now with the Lord, and Isaac Ruiz.

Cusi answered the call of God in 1991 and began his ministry as a pastor. He opened the doors to Family Christian Center Apostolic Church and served as senior pastor until his passing. Throughout his years in ministry, he ministered and baptized hundreds of souls to the glory of Jesus.

Cusi was loved by many and will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family and his ministry, and his love for God. He is survived by his wife Rachel, his first wife Thelma, his 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his congregation who he loved dearly.

The world has lost a true servant of God, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he shared with others. Rest in peace, Pastor Daniel “Cusi” L. Ruiz Sr.

In honor of the late Pastor Daniel L. Ruiz, also known as "Cusi," a celebration of life ceremony will be held on Monday, February 20th, at Faith Tabernacle. A burial service will take place on Tuesday, February 21st, at Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Marana. We welcome all who knew Cusi to attend and pay tribute to his life.
