Richard Inez Rocha

April 20, 1946 - February 26, 2024

Richard Inez Rocha, son of Refugio and Maria Rocha, born on April 20th, 1946 passed peacefully in his sleep on February, 26th, 2024; he was 77.  Richard was 1 of 10 children and though Richard was born in Loomis, California his family's roots began in Leon and Guanajuato, Mexico.  Finding a life in the United States by migrating North to work the fields.

Richard leaves behind a stepson whom he called his own, Tony Sandoval (54), and two daughters; Jennifer Headrick (49) and Marie Ayala (40).  Richard was also the grandfather to 5 grandchildren; Natalie Headrick, Jack Headrick, Conner Ayala, Jaxon Ayala, and Jameson Ayala; surviving siblings Paul, Rosie, Margie, Morrie, and John.  Though his children and grandchildren had relocated throughout the country he made sure to show them love by sending presents on birthdays and holidays.  Always making a point to never forget Valentine's Day by sending candy in the old favorite red heart-shaped boxes.

Richard had an incredible work ethic.  He served in the United States Army, and later built tanks working for FMC.  He was a retired carpenter and a member of Local Union 405.  He was a proud member of the Cathedral of Faith in San Jose, California serving in multiple ministries there for over 30 years.  His joy and connections to others were often found through his sense of humor and willingness to give; often embellished by a giant smile and thumbs up.

Giving back to the community and spreading the Word of God were Richard's favorite pastimes.  His love and compassion for both made it into his daily conversations with everyone; even when you did not expect it.  Richard had found the way of Christ in his most troubling times and vowed to follow.  He was a devoted Christian, a giver to the community, and passionately spread the love of Christ.
