Oscar Galindo

November 08, 1961 - May 09, 2024

Oscar Galindo of San Francisco, California passed away at the age of 62 on May 9, 2024 after an unexpected illness.

Oscar was born in Taft, Texas on November 8, 1961 to the late Adolfo and Olga Galindo.  He attended Taft High School and upon graduating enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He served in the Army for 4 years and shortly after completing his service, he traveled with friends to live in California for a while.  His friends all moved back, but Oscar stayed and made California his home where he lived, worked, and enjoyed the rest of his life.

Oscar was passionate about playing pool and often played in pool tournaments in California and out of state.  He also enjoyed playing video poker, collecting vintage comic books as well as spending his weekends with close friends.  Oscar was a dedicated worker for over 20+ years for a cleaning company.  Many of his clients also became his closest friends.  He loved animals of all kinds and was very fond of all his client's pets, who returned their fondness for Oscar.  He will be remembered for his humor, caring attitude, compassion, and helping others in any way he could.

He is preceded in death by his parents Adolfo and Olga Galindo.  He leaves behind his siblings Sylvia (George) Cruz, Adolfo Galindo Jr., and Sonia (Rogelio) Ortiz;  6 nieces, 3 nephews, including several grand nieces and nephews - all will miss him dearly.  In addition, he leaves behind many dear friends and clients who grew to love him as a member of their own families.  He also leaves behind Bella, his most beloved chihuahua.

Oscar's final wishes were to be cremated and his ashes laid to rest alongside his parent's gravesites in Taft, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date.

His family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors, and care team at California Pacific Medical Center, especially; John (RN), Hannah and Mariah (Social Workers), and Dr. Silvia McCanidish for their compassionate care of Oscar and our family.  We would also like to extend our deepest thanks to the special friends with whom we were fortunate to meet and who were there to visit Oscar in his last days.  We are forever grateful for your genuine kindness and support.
