Gregory Allen Spina

November 04, 1958 - May 22, 2024

Gregory Allen Spina, 65, of Henderson, Nevada, went home to be with the Lord when he lost his fight with CHF and diabetes on May 22nd, 2024. He was born November 4th, 1958 to Leona “Lee” and Frank Spina.
Greg, a kind and loving, husband, stepdad, brother, uncle, and great uncle is survived by his wife Chris, step-daughter Laura, sister Mary, nephew Tony, niece Niki, and great-nephew Jack.
Growing up in Lakewood, California, Greg enjoyed being with friends and family. The 4th of July was especially fun as he put on quite a pyrotechnic show for the neighborhood. Taking care of mom’s turtles, funny cars, bowling, food, and collections of all kinds were some of his hobbies.
During high school he worked in the frozen food department at Fed-Mart. After graduating from Mayfair High he continued working in frozen foods at Ralph's for many years. He later went back to school and became a journeyman electrician and retired as such. He was an amazing craftsman. He had quite an eye for decorating. His work will be appreciated for many years to come.
He met his love, Chris while working at the Santa Ana Library renovation. She would stand by him through thick and thin. They would enjoy many years of happiness in their beautiful home in Irvine. When Chris retired they moved to their lovely new home in Henderson.
Greg’s wonderful smile, willing heart to help no matter what, fun humor and enjoyment of togetherness will be what we will remember. He stepped up when many of us needed help. His kindness and love will continue to affect all of us whom he loved.
My last words to Greg were, “We will take care of Chris. It’s okay to go be with mom, dad, grandma and grandpa, but most of all to be with Jesus who made the way for you to be with him forever.” Even though Greg hadn’t spoken for a couple of days, he said “Uh huh”. Greg had asked to speak with the chaplain before he got to hospice. The chaplain at hospice visited with him and prayed over him. I trust that the Lord heard his heart.
“We will not grieve as the world grieves, without hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.” 1 Thess. 4:13-14
Your loving sister.
