James “Jim“ Edward Fike of Fresno, California passed away at home with his loving wife and dear niece caring for him and by his side to the end on March 8, 2025. He fought a hard battle after being diagnosed with liver disease in 2015. He did everything right but sometimes that
isn’t enough, and God was ready for him to be free of pain and suffering.
Jim was born in Long Beach, California on May 3, 1957 to Don William Fike snd Gloria Lavon Fike. He attended Milliken High School in Long Beach, California and Atascadero High School in Atascadero, California in his senior year. He had a great love of music and surfing during his younger years living in Long Beach.
Jim worked at Farmer Brothers coffee for 26 years and truly enjoyed his job. He loved his LA Dodgers with a passion most don’t have for the sport. He left me with that same passion “Go Dodgers”.
Jim is survived by his loving, devoted wife Rhonda who cared for him and stood by him through this journey. They have been married for 28 years. His dogs Donner and Cooper have also been by his side. It has been amazing to watch them. Animals know.
Jim is also survived by his son, Jason Fike and his partner Damon. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Don Fike and Gloria Fike and his brother David Fike.
At Jim’s request there will be no public service. There will be a private family service at a later date. Thank you for all the love and support over these past nine years, so many of you have been through this with us and we love you for that.
Thank you to all the wonderful doctors at Kaiser Permanente who cared for Jim over the past 9 years. A special thank you to
Dr. Joga Gahir, who cared for him with kindness and compassion to the end and had the very difficult task of telling me that it was time for hospice. I will not
forget your kindness.
A special thank you to my dear niece Sara who left her own family and sick father to come and be with me. We made some very special memories❤️
