Anne Petrik Deppermann

May 19, 1949 - February 21, 2026

Anne Petrik Deppermann of Parker, Colorado passed away on February 21, 2026. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Carol Petrik, and her brother, Dave Petrik. Anne is survived by: her husband of 38 years, Dennis Deppermann; her children, Allison (Will) Sowers and James Deppermann; and her three granddaughters Annie Sowers, Helen Sowers, and Rosie Sowers.

Anne was a faithful Christian who devoted her life to loving and serving others, especially children. She was deeply involved in the foster and adoption system, fostering many children and adopting one. She served at various churches and religious organizations throughout her life, leading small groups, volunteering in children’s ministries, and praying with Moms in Prayer. She also modeled for her family how to love others—holiday meals with Anne almost always included friends and neighbors who didn’t have family nearby to celebrate with.

Anne was born in San Diego, California. She received an bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and an MBA from California State University, Dominguez Hills. After a stint working at Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, she spent most of her career working for the airlines, where she met a group of lifelong friends and through which she was able to travel the word. Anne loved travelling, and she loved telling stories of her travels, from Turkey to the Micronesian islands. She had an adventurous spirit.

Most of all, Anne loved her family. She was a devoted mother who was always available for her children whenever, or wherever, they needed her. She encouraged them to learn, explore, and try new things. She also instilled in them her sense of humor. Anne always cheered the underdog and motivated her family to try, even if the odds seemed stacked against them. Her life motto was “why not?” In the last years of her life, she doted on her three granddaughters, spending as much time as possible with them and showering them with love and attention.

A memorial will be held in honor of Anne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hope and Home a foster care organization: https://hopeandhome.org/get-involved/donate/.

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Chris Noonan As with Dana, knowing Anne since her days at Continental Airlines doing extraordinary work that would lead to modern thinking of airline optimization and pricing, playing volleyball in Manhattan Beach and points south, making Frontier Airlines (vers 1.0) a regional force and later playing tennis at The Pinery in Colorado gave me the gift of decades of knowing Anne ... always too early to lose a truly good person

Dana King Losing a wonderful friend of five decades is so difficult. Anne was a most special part of our Continental Futures Planning team and that team was so much better and fun thanks to her. Anne and I shared an office and so many, many adventures with our FP colleagues. Running on the Strand after work, which was often just a good excuse to stop at the Shellback by MB Pier for a beverage or two and lots of laughs. Working many long hours then getting down to business playing airline league beach volleyball together-laughing more than digging or spiking and followed by more fun, food and drink. I could spend days just talking about the adventures we all had at Tony’s and Dana’s wedding, spending New Years eves at the Rose & Crown in Waikiki singing “Would you like to sing on a Star, carry moonbeams home in a jar…”, pulling all nighters in Vegas learning from Ben how to manage our money in Blackjack; exploring so many cities and getting back in the wee hours on Monday just in time to get back to work. At the core of all these adventures was Anne, with quirky and subtle humor that made us laugh and smile. So - this is a very hard day losing a wonderful friend who we all loved so much. I do know that she will always be loved both by God and her many friends and family, which is really what it’s all about isn’t it❣️ Allison - we send you and all of Anne’s family so much love and appreciation for her in our lives. It’s a traditional Jewish prayer but I love it for Anne here. May her memory always be a blessing.❤️🙏

Roger Sherman Allison, Dennis and James - I'm so sorry to hear Anne passed away. I enjoyed our many years working together, meeting occasionally for sushi, and especially her dry sense of humor. My condolences to all of you. She'll be missed. Roger

Kathy Kramer Anne was a fellow member of Moms in Prayer. She was a dedicated member of our state team for many years. We both adopted boys from Foster Care and shared a heart for these boys who needed a loving , Christian home. She will be missed❤️
