Gerald Allen DeMay

February 28, 1966 - July 29, 2021

DeMay, Gerald Allen, Age 55. Formally of Tucson Az, passed away on Thursday July 29th, 2021. He is survived by his father, George DeMay, his daughters, Meranda Cody and Cecilie Pilot, son Dylan Pilot, wife Tammy Pilot-DeMay, grandchildren, Peyton, Avery, Jackson and Carter, his dog Roscoe and cat Spade, and sisters Lisa Bell and Janet Milam, in addition to multiple lifelong friends and extended family.

He was a small business owner for a home repair company named, DeMay’s Home Repair. Which was perfect for him since he was a man of all trades. If he didn’t know how to fix something, he found out how to. He was a loyal member of the Moose where he organized and participated in charity events and fundraisers for his community and spent his off time either playing in their pool tournament or calling bingo. He loved taking rides on his motorcycle as often as he could. His favorite route to take was down Highway 83. He always said he was the happiest when on his bike. He loved spending time with his father, George DeMay. Either fishing, working on cars or just hanging out in the shop together. Gerald would help anyone who needed it and never hesitated to drop what he was doing to go and help a friend who was stuck in the mud in the desert or go and help replace parts on a vehicle or take off in the middle of the night to go and rescue a friend in another state who was broke down on the side of the freeway. He was very caring and selfless. His favorite band was Lynyrd Skynyrd, and he played music as often as he could. He always tried to do the right thing no matter the circumstances.

A viewing will take place at Avenidas Cremation and Burial on August 13th, 2021, between 3-5pm, with cremation following. A Celebration of life memorial will take place on August 14th, 2021 at the Moose lodge between 3-5pm.

He was loved by so many and will be missed by many more. No one can ever replace him or the big heart he wore on his sleeve. His family and friends miss him more than words can express and are deeply saddened by his unexpected departure from this life. They will remember all the good times they shared with him and all the stories they created along the way. It was a wild ride, and they are all grateful to have been on it with him.
