Frances Patricia “Pat” (Stevenson) Martin, died peacefully on December 22, 2021 at her home in Tucson at the age of 92 after a long illness. She was born in Montana August 5, 1929 in Hinsdale, Montana. Pat is survived by children Stewart Martin, David Martin, Jane Eichelberger and Robert Martin, granddaughter Cyndi Phillips Bland, and siblings June Stevenson Wristen Mooney, Joseph Stoltman, John Stoltman and Arthur Stoltman.
From youth until death Pat was well-known as a kind, caring and generous person and loving mother. She involved her children in scouting, music, clubs and other activities. She worked hard to grow husband Julian's businesses in air conditioning contracting and sheet metal manufacturing. As a school nurse in Tucson she treated children in multiple schools, went on to obtain a master's degree, treated and advised Tohono O'odham families and had a book dedicated to her. She was a strong advocate for community and health, fighting the proliferation of liquor stores, bulletin boards, strengthening community centers and always supporting Myers Elementary School and the community around it. After the untimely death of husband Julian Martin in an aircraft accident, she blossomed - with friends, UofA book club, trail running and badminton. She loved carousel horses and held high tea holiday parties for friends. She won many awards for running including half and full marathons and twice ran the New York Marathon. Her friends remember her as fun, caring and easy to talk with. She was a strong matriarch in the Martin family and will be sorely missed.
She was predeceased by mother Katherine Hentz Stevenson Stoltman, father Harold Kenneth Stevenson, stepfather Joseph Elmer Stoltman and siblings Harold Stevenson, Peter Stevenson, Katherine “Kitty” Stevenson Andreas.
