Soon Kyu Oh, of San Francisco, passed away peacefully with her family at her home on Monday, February 28, 2022. After surviving breast cancer decades ago, Soon was able to fight blood cancer for these last 8 years and lost her battle at the end of February. Even through the battles of cancer, she continued to fight to have an enjoyable life and she exuded an abundant amount of grace, peace and care for others that she loved. Even in her final moments, she was still thinking about others needs first. 

Soon Kyu Oh was born in Chungju, Korea on August 7, 1950 to her father who passed in the war and her mother, Pyung Soon Min. She moved to the United States in 1985 with her family. Her field of study was nursing. She worked at Curry Senior Center in the Tenderloin for many years, and then she retired about 8 years ago. 

Soon was known by her family and friends as one of the most devoted, selfless, kind, funny, gentle, and loving people.  Soon enjoyed being around her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren; her face would light up when they walked into the room.  She also enjoyed gardening, outdoors, tennis, cooking, and her community of friends. She was a proud member of the Jehovah's Witness community. 

She is survived by her husband, Hyun Taek, her 2 sons, Eui Isaac (wife & kids: Thu, Isaiah, and Zachariah), and John (wife & kids: Candice, Siana, Micah, and Ezra) along with her 2 sisters and 2 brothers and her husbands siblings. She has left an impression on many in her lifetime, and her family will forever be grateful for the legacy that she started in their honor. She was proceeded by her father and precious mother, Pyung Soon Min.
