Joshua Antonio Ramirez Thayer

February 12, 1991 - May 01, 2022

Joshua Antonio Ramirez Thayer, born on February 12, 1991, in Bellevue, Washington, passed away at the age of 31 on May 1, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. Josh is survived by his parents, Jerry and Angelita Thayer, sister Ashley, brother-in-law Trevor Little and a large and loving extended family.

Josh touched the lives of many with his passion for the beauty of the outdoors, woodworking, and capturing memories through film and photographs. After graduation from Tahoma High School, he was certified as a wilderness EMT-B and MPIC by Remote Medical International in order to help others be safe in the great outdoors.  After several years in retail sales, Josh transitioned into engineered asphalt following in his father’s footsteps and performed technical oversight on projects for ExxonMobil in Texas, Boise Cascade in Oregon, and the Department of Energy at the Hanford Nuclear Site in Eastern Washington.

Josh easily found laughter in any situation, and it was incredibly difficult not to join in on the fun, his energy was infectious. Josh wouldn’t want us to dwell on his passing but rather celebrate all the shining moments he shared with each one of us.

Please join us in celebrating Josh’s life by sharing any memories, stories, or photos you have of Josh so that we all may remember the good times and honor the wonderful man that we sorely miss.

Michael Lumia This is so sad to hear. I was one of Josh’s Assistant Scout Masters at BSA Troop 594. Josh was a hoot and I always enjoyed having him at meetings and getting his help to organize the younger scouts. One of my favorite things to do was go into REI that he was working at, seeing and shouting ‘Josh!’ and he would see me and shout back ‘Mr Lumia!’. We would then shoot the breeze for a bit and then he would help me figure out which product to purchase. Josh’s smile was infectious and his inherent goodwill was part of his DNA. He is and will always be missed. Rest In Peace my friend and fellow Scout.

Gloria Zielinski When Josh walked in a room. ..it lit up . He was smart, funny and intelligent. He could talk about anything and everything! I’ll miss his beautiful heart and our long talks “ "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” .YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART 💔💔
