                    Matthew Gabriel Walsh
              March 24, 1956 - May 13, 2022

Matthew Gabriel Walsh, 66, of Wesley Chapel, FL, passed away at his home on May 13, 2022 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Newton, NJ, he was the son of Margaret and George Walsh of Lake Mohawk, NJ.

He was a graduate of Sparta High School and attended Rutgers University.  He then served as a medic in the Navy and was, at one point, the Senior Critical Care Technician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

Matthew went on to establish Walsh Ophthalmic Systems in Virginia, then again in Florida.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, Margaret and George and 4 older siblings, Joseph Walsh of Pownal, VT, Michael Walsh of Houston, TX, Mary Ellen Benjamin of North Adams, MA and Mark Walsh of Lake Mohawk, NJ.  He is survived by his wife, Rose, his older brother, Peter Walsh of Brooksville, FL and Great Falls, MT as well as many family members in various states throughout the US.

Matthew enjoyed his life which included snow and water skiing, golf, cars, his life-long friends and his many friends throughout his community.  His great personality and sense of humor will surely be missed.

A service will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2348 Collier Pkwy, Land O Lakes, FL 34639 on June 15, 2022 at 10:30 am.  This is the link for live stream. https://youtu.be/LE-NSWNNXAo  It will open 15 minutes before service and can be viewed anytime after.

In lieu of flowers, we'd appreciate donations to Gulfside Healthcare Services, Inc. 2061 Collier Pkwy, Land O Lakes, FL  34639 or go to https://www.flipcause.com/secure/fundraiser_search/ODgzNDg=
