Benjamin Vasquez Leyva sadly passed away on 06/02/2022 at Peppi’s House Hospice in Tucson, AZ. He passed away peacefully at the age of 57, surrounded by friends and family. He leaves behind a loving son (Giancarlo V Vasquez), brothers (Humberto & Jorge Vasquez Leyva) sisters (Mari Idalia & Zayda Karina Vasquez Leyva) and his father (Benjamin Vasquez Felix) who will miss him so much. Benjamin wasn’t someone who liked to fit the mold, and wasn’t afraid of being straight forward with everyone, the people around him loved him for that. His sarcastic humor was incredibly infectious and could make you laugh even on your hardest days. He loved playing video games, anything Marvel, and above all LOVED sharing his favorite music. Some of his favorite artists were Lola Beltran, Queen, Whitney Houston, Abba, Bonnie Tyler, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Donna Summers, Rocio Durcal and the list goes on. He was an incredibly strong and courageous person, back in 2016 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer, and though the treatments were very hard on him, he kept moving forward. Unfortunately, the cancer came back at the end of 2021, and though he went through treatments again, there were other complications due to all the damage caused by the radiation and chemotherapy.
Benjamin fought as hard as he possibly could until the very end, we are so grateful for all the incredible memories he gave us, and for all he endured to stick around for his family and friends. Benjamin loved his family and friends fiercely, and he will be sorely missed.
Per Benjamin’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
