I first met Jim at just 14 years old. As years went on, he would introduce me to amazing songs, some that are still my favorite to this day. “Listen to the lyrics!” He would so passionately tell a room full of loud people. The room would get quiet immediately. One of my favorites that stand out is “Love song” from Tesla. I still remember him every time I hear it. I would in time know him as not just a friend I used to know, but as my beautiful nephews father. Joes Dad. Joes dad took me fishing on my 18th birthday. He taught me how to drive a 1957 Chevy Panel Van. He taught me to appreciate art and poetry. It wasn’t all good times. We fought like family members do, we went long distances without speaking. But anytime we would find our paths crossing throughout later years, it was still about the songs, the poetry, the art… the memories. I’ll never forget him. Prayers to his family and friends. Give my beautiful Jojo a hug for me Jim. 💜

My uncle showed me many many things. I will miss Jim dearly especially his sense of humor. I’m still pretending he’s out there on the road. Losing him means losing a huge part of myself so I’ll just have to meet up with him down at the crossroads someday.
