Josephine Terrill Castro

October 27, 1931 - July 26, 2022

Josephine Terrill Castro 90, passed away on 07/26/22. She is finally with our dad, Hector Castro, after missing him for 15 years. Josie or Nana Josie, as she was known to many, was born in Miami, Arizona on 10/27/31. She was the fourth youngest of 10 siblings. Growing up she lived in both the United States and in Mexico. But when her and our dad were married in 1957, Tucson became their forever home. Their home was the Hub of every relative or friend passing through Tucson. She always had meals for visitors and a place for them to spend the night.  Josie was a proud member of the The League of Mexican American Women for many years. She also worked as a Special Education Teacher's Assistant at Ochoa Elementary. Josie enjoyed crafting but her passion was painting with Watercolors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector Castro. She is survived by her daughters: Clarisa Barceló (Octavio) and Cristina Flores (Danny), grandchildren: Luci Barceló Vasquez (Paul), Alexis Octavio Barceló (Kendall), Daniel Flores, Thomas Flores, and great-granddaughter Sally Josephine Vasquez. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy in our mom’s honor consider donating to Salpointe Catholic High School 1545 E. Copper St. 85718.
