Phil, the picture you posted certainly show the features of the Rupp guys. Looks more like his Dad/Fritz. I never noticed that before in Richard.
I was close in age to Richard. In fact, for a while in Salem our families lived in the same house together. I recall sitting on the upstairs steps helping Richard with reading assignments.
He stayed in contact with me over these many years. We both enjoyed our travels and he often called to find out which country Jim and I going to next. Always encouraged me to keep going!
When he became too political, I just handed the phone to Jim.
We talked a lot about medical issues and especially his grave concern for dementia. He studied the disease, trying all kinds of healthy suggestions and potions to offset the problem.
I appreciated he took the time/energy to come to Family Reunions. He remembered some great stories. Remember to check him out on the reunion videos!!

Richard was a great brother but I only visited him when I passed through Albuquerque NM or Yuma AZ during winter months and he was there. He only came to see me in CA once when we planned a backpack trip of the John Muir Trail in the 1980's.
My wife and I visited him in 2015 when we went to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival (wonderful event).
