Karen Ruth Alexander(née Koslosky) passed away peacefully in her sleep late August 2nd, 2022, losing her battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy. Karen always had a positive outlook and sense of humor even during the darkest of times while battling breast cancer in her 30’s.
Born January 6, 1960, she was the ninth child of Geraldine and Vincent Koslosky. Like her siblings before and after her, she attended All Saints Catholic School before attending Hayward High School. After high school, she started classes at Chabot College before finding her home at Farmers Insurance Group where she worked for nearly 40 years. In 1980, she met the love of her life Dennis Alexander. They were married 7 years later before welcoming their only child, a daughter, Sydney. Karen loved going on trips with her husband to Hawaii, visiting ocean towns along California's coast, going to Lake Tahoe with friends, or just enjoying the simple pleasure of finding wildflowers. Karen deeply loved her friends, family, and coworkers, watching the birds out on the deck, taking the dog Bochy to the dog park, and her Golden State Warriors. Karen is survived by Dennis, her loving husband of 35 years, her daughter Sydney, 10 of her 11 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Karen had a way of infecting joy in the lives of all those around her. This includes family, all the friends she made through her work at Farmers, and her regular get-togethers with her elementary and high school friends for crafts, laughs, and wine. Karen will always be remembered and loved as a friend to all and a teller of great stories. A Celebration of Life open house will be held October 2nd, between 2-6pm at Redwood Canyon Golf Course Ballroom. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the MSA coalition to help fund research for this condition.
