Geneva Slaght

January 30, 1927 - October 23, 2020

Geneva (Moore) Slaght, 93, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 30, 1927 in Knoxville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late McKinley and Sealey (Sampson) Moore.
Geneva was raised and attended schools in Tennessee and came with her family to Niagara Falls at the age of 17. She retired in 1984, after 30-plus years of service, from Nabisco Shredded Wheat. In her younger years, Geneva was active in Lockport Assembly of God Church and their Women's Ministry. She enjoyed crafts and had a silk flower business in the 1980's, in which she would provide her flowers for any event or craft show.
Geneva, the matriarch of the family, leaves behind children, David Carl Noretski and Patricia Hobbs; grandchildren, Melissa (Mark) Lock, Kristy (Jimmy) Powell, Kelli Hobbs and Katie Hobbs; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan, Evan, Sean, Lilyana, Landen, Greyson and Charlotte; siblings, Lewis (Lucy) Moore and Shirley Chapman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by spouses, Keith Slaght and Carl Noretski; and two sisters, Juanita "Bonnie" and Mary.
Geneva's family will be present on Wednesday, from 3-7 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where her funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Steven Antin officiating. (If attending her funeral, please enter the parking lot from 2nd Avenue.) Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. As you prepare to attend, please be mindful of face coverings and prepare to practice social distancing for everyones safety.
In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care of Michael R. Goodlander. Share condolences and memories at GOODLANDERCARES.com.
