Brenda Kay Martinez

October 13, 1950 - November 09, 2020

Brenda Kay Martinez, 70, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on November 9, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson.  She was born on October 13, 1950, in Douglas, Arizona to Porfirio & Lily May Romero.  Brenda had a degree in accounting, worked as an aviation technician, and was also a volunteer at her local VFW.  Everyone loved her cooking, especially her baked goods and tamales.  Brenda taught her family to not judge and to be there for one another.  She was forgiving, kind and one of the strongest, smartest women on earth. Brenda was a real-life superwoman and the rock of her family.

Brenda is survived by 2 daughters, Tina Martinez & Cindy Martinez; 2 sons, Richard Porfirio Martinez & Efren Rene Martinez; 3 sisters, Molly Franco, Dalorez Granillo & Sally Castillo; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Efren Escamillo Martinez; her parents, Porfirio & Lily May Romero; and also her grandparents, Tata Jones & Nana Clara. 

A viewing will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Avenidas Cremation & Burial, located at 1376 West Saint Mary’s Road in Tucson.  A Rosary will take place at 3:00pm, also at Avenidas, recited by Deacon Mike Gutierrez.

Rene Martinez No more worries... Life isn't fair, it isn't easy. Because of you I can take on anything this life can throw at me, good or bad!!! I didnt always feel this way. Because I watched my mom overcome some of the worst life can hit you with, with poise and strength, and your calming demeanor you took on some tough times. Always coming out on top, taught me, there is nothing I can't overcome! Thank you for all the best times, and thank you for showing me to get thru the tough times. You are THE BEST MOMMY!!!
