On Saturday, January 7, Carolyn Paula Martin passed away peacefully at the age of 79 in Berthoud, Colorado.
Born to Paula and Clifford Lindberg of Edmonton, Alberta, Carolyn is survived by her sister Bernice and brother Dean. She is predeceased by her brother Keith. Carolyn is also survived by her daughter Janice, several nieces, nephews and grandchildren, and recently reunited to her long-lost lovechild Gary.
After graduating high school Carolyn worked in secretarial positions, having mastered typing and shorthand. At the age of 20 she married Ronald Martin, who predeceased her. While raising her daughter she became an avid homemaker and seamstress, with exceptional skills in sewing clothing, household linens and draperies. She had a love for gardening, landscaping and trees, and had a flair for cooking anything she craved, whether it be crème brulee, cocoa chiffon, pineapple chicken or seafood bisque. She enjoyed vacations, parties and gatherings, and was usually the contributor for Thanksgiving gravy and her famous apple pie. Carolyn was a perfectionist in every way. Her house was spotless and her finished products revealed no errors.
As the years passed, she struggled with multiple medical problems and surgeries, which unfortunately resulted in her becoming more reclusive.
Her smile and sense of humor will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the year in Edmonton, Alberta.
