He is survived by Brother Gary Parker (Jan), Niece Debra Woody (Bob), Daughter Heather Woody, and Son Nick Woody. Nephew Brian Parker (Marie) Sons Tyler, Mathew, and Jacob and stepson Mark Lamb, Nephew Marty Parker (Nancy), Son Casey and Daughter Sara, Half-sisters Vala Parker in Texas City, Half-sister Brenda (deceased) Half-brother Mark Parker (deceased).
Rif went to schools in Merced, graduated from Merced High, and attended Merced Junior College. He played football in both schools. He was a standout player in both. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the Navy and was honorably discharged. He was a proud Veteran. He was a Christian and believed in Jesus as the Son of God.
Best remembered as a modern-day cowboy, he loved the western dress style and lifestyle. He was an independent big rig truck driver delivering road construction materials locally. Co-owner of Parker Enterprises trucking. He could be ornery at times, but he was generous to a fault, willing to help anyone in need. Always looking out for the down and out, helping many ex-convicts and alcoholics.
He has many friends here and was well-liked and respected. He was friendly to all and fun to be around. Very well known.
