Jeff Y Many condolences to Michael's family and to his surviving loved ones. Michael and I were close, probably best, friends during our Junior High and High School years. We spent countless hours together both on and off-campus, including many hours at his family home in the company of his warm and welcoming siblings and mother - who in many ways, were like a second family to me. For thrills, and perhaps a few extra sheckels (I can't remember which), we would volunteer/help out at his mother's local fast-food franchise. I always admired and stood in awe of Michael's intellect and natural abilities in nearly every endeavor, whether is was learning German, his schoolwork or downhill skiing. Sadly we grew apart as we matured and our interests evolved, and after I moved away to college, I never saw him again. Sadder still, I don't even remember if we ever had a chance to say our farewells. Recently Michael had reached out to my brother over a popular social media site that I am not present on, expressing a desire to reconnect. Regrettably we were not able to reconnect in time. Somewhat naively speaking few, except perhaps those closest to him, could have understood that time would be so short. What an honor it would have been to catch up with an old friend, recounting old memories, picking up where we left off (minus a few youthful indiscretions) and simply enjoying one another's for the people that we had become. So long Michael, may you Rest in Peace.
