"Clark obtained his degree in Materials and Man in an independent studies
program at the University of California at Santa Cruz. He did his thesis
on the history of tea and the tea ceremony and illustrated the thesis with
9 teapots he made. He also attended the University of California his
first two years in college. His last job before retirement was at Gemfire
Corporation in Fremont where he was the Director of Facilities and
Equipment. He worked as a Staff Engineer at Teledyne Components (later
Telcom Semiconductor), Mountain View where he was a member of the Senior
Engineering Staff. Prior to Teledyne, he worked at Xerox Palo Alto
Research Center where he was a Member of the Research Staff."
"Clark was passionate about many things from his dogs Snuggles, Fooey,
Peabody, Sherman and Benny, physics and material science to gardening and
was considered a ""Renaissance Man."" by those who knew him. He was
a creative potter and showed and sold his pottery at many fairs in the Bay
area including the Renaissance Fair. He loved planting seeds and watching
them grow into the beautiful plants, flowers, fruit, and vegetables they
were meant to be. Clark had an eidetic memory; he remembered everything he
read and was a master at explaining things he knew. Music was a big part
of his life. He could spontaneously, at appropriate moments, sing songs
from the 60's and 70's. He loved *I'll Always Love You* by Whitney Houston
and this song was playing on the car radio when Joan was driving home from
the hospital February 4th.
He loved his family and friends and was generous and kind to them all. He
is survived by his wife of 17 years, his stepsons, Mike Jewell and Ed
Fuller, his mother, Hazel Healy, his sister Janet Healy and her son Michael
Rufini, his brother Roger Healy and his children, Carole Cummings, Douglas
Healy and Jocelyn McConnon.
A memorial service for Clark will be held February 19 at 1:00pm in his
garden at his home in Sunnyvale. All his friends are invited to attend.
Call 408-306-3046 for directions. Dress is casual, no suits, as Clark
hated to wear a suit. In lieu of flowers, bring some food or drink for the
celebration of his life to be held after the ceremony. Clark loved food,
friendship, and celebrations. He will be missed a great deal.
