"It is with great sadness that the family of Ada May ""Dolly"" Parkman announce her passing on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the age of 92 years. Dolly will be lovingly remembered by her children, Diane Young, Jennifer Schreiber, and Patricia Sherwood, as well as her three sisters, Lucille McElroy, Jeannette Johnson, and Annette Gurley. Dolly is also survived by her grandchildren Richard Bruno, Brittany Grube. Lisa LeBlanc Lidie, Jennifer Levy, and Seth Abegg, as well as great grandchildren Audrey Bruno, Nicholas Bruno, Hoyt Grube, and Colt Grube, and extended family and dear friends. Dolly was pre-deceased by her husband, William Parkman, her parents, Frank Harris Perrin, and Ada May Perrin, her brother, Harris Perrin, and her sister, Barbara Alter."
She was an avid tennis player from her high school years where she was a junior champion at Excelsior High School, and for numerous years of her life up until her late 70's. She founded the Garden Grove Women's Tennis Club in the early 1970's and presided as President of the Club for several years. She played in numerous tennis tournaments throughout Southern California, and in Kauai. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and a beloved friend. She was a true patriot of our country and an insatiable reader of the history of World War II. She donated to numerous charities for our active military and veterans.
"A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life in memory of Dolly will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at Arbor Christian Fellowship, 23302 El Toro Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630"
