Rene Sims

March 20, 1957 - November 14, 2019

"Rene Lamont Sims, a resident of Fontana was called home on Thursday, November  14, 2019; he was 62 years old. At peace with the Lord and with unwavering faith, he went to sleep with the consciousness that he will live throughout the ceaseless ages with God. "

"Rene viewed himself as a modern-day jack of all trades and could fix anything; Nikola Tesla had nothing on him! In terms of cars, Rene could definitely keep a car running in tip top shape and readily shared his expertise with those in his circle. There was no mechanical challenge where Rene ever met his match. Ever the dapper dresser, Rene definitely set trends rather than followed them with respect to attire. Rene would often converse on topics ranging from politics to sports. There is no topic that he was ill informed about nor was he not prepared to discuss at length. Ever the Renaissance man, Rene could wax poetically on a wide range of topics that included politics, religion, and sports. One never had to ask Rene for his opinion to determine how he felt about a particular topic because he made certain that you knew! But he was equally fair as was he firm in his assertions and viewpoints.   Rene never avoided opportunities to dare to experience new people, places, and things. Rene's adventurous mindset will be sorely missed.
Rene Lamont Sims is survived by both brothers and sisters. Rene Lamont Sims was preceded in death by three  sisters: Denise Cook, Carol Robinson, and Jeanetta Sims and one brother, Larry Robinson. He is also survived by a host of other relatives which include uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Sims Jr. and Ollie Vera Washington. We have all been touched by Rene's noble deeds. So today we honor not his death, but his life. Rene will be missed dearly, however, lest not forget memories are forever."
