We are heartbroken because of the death of Frank Granger Jr. on October 2, 2022, at the age of 82. He was born in Louisiana on February 14, 1940, to Frank Granger Sr. and Geneva Hadley. His father moved his family, including his older brother Jack Mouton (deceased) and younger brother Marvin Granger (deceased), to San Francisco when he was just a small boy. Before joining the Navy, Frank had the privilege of becoming a father to his only child Rosemary Ross. He later met and married his wife, Ida Granger (deceased). They enjoyed playing tennis and trained in martial arts together.
Frank Granger had a kind, cheerful personality and always had a joke to share. Everyone who knew Frank knew he had a big heart and a gregarious personality. Frank enjoyed bowling and even ballroom dancing. He loved sports. His favorites are tennis, football, and basketball. He was a well-loved member of his community. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
Our hope is to one day see our beloved father and grandfather again, at a time when there will be no more sickness, tears, and pain (Rev. 21:3,4). This hope has helped us cope with the heavy grief that we are experiencing. A small family memorial will be held for immediate family only. We will be scattering Frank's ashes at sea off the coast of San Francisco at a spot that was meaningful to him and his family. We also like to thank everyone who sent cards, flowers or made a call. We all feel your kind words and sympathy in your endless empathy.
