Hi, it's me, Big Ed, and it really feels weird doing this because this time of year I'm either raising money for the Distinguished Gentleman's Tour or the sadly discontinued NHL Beard Marathon, but this time, I'm asking for your help. If you don't know, I had surgery in mid-March and have been out of work ever since. My follow-up surgery was to repair my foot in June, and one of my incisions became infected resulting in sepsis and put me in the hospital for over a month in long-term care. I am still receiving home treatment for antibiotics and I am certain to be denied a claim due to the "pre-existing condition" clause in my long-term disability insurance. I also had an infection in my tooth during the surgery and I'm still paying for it. Thankfully, my dad Ed Sr. helped pay a lot of my bills, but, I really wanted to help lighten some of his load. As long as you can chip in. The money goes to pay for my medical and dental bills.
