Grace Ruth (Wagner) Morgan passed away 16 July 2023 surrounded by family. She chose her time and peacefully went on her way.
She was born in Big Rock, Virginia on 2 January 1939 to Hufford and Lona (Lee) Wagner.
Grace worked at Eaton Corporation in Illinois for 30 years, starting on the factory floor, then working up through the ranks to become a respected materials controller, managing multi-millions of dollars of automotive parts (among others) long before computers.
An incredible cook, she enjoyed preparing and sharing meals with family and friends. Not really an adventurous eater, she did not shy away from new cuisines. On one trip to Denver, she even tried Rocky Mountain Oysters (though not knowing at the time what they were.). However, the openness to trying new things was one she was proud of, and passed down to her family.
Grace truly enjoyed traveling, and had several adventures in their motorhome (including the aforementioned trip to Denver.)
An accomplished artist, in later years, Grace painted several pictures that were auctioned at a charity event raising thousands of dollars - even one painting being used as a wine label.
She did not keep her talent to herself; she mentored young artists and shared her talent in a way that allowed them to explore and create their own masterpieces.
Grace is remembered as being funny and witty, and always caring. She “knew how to read a room” and always ensured everyone felt special and included. There are many times that she cared for others before herself.
She is preceded by her parents, Hufford and Lona, husband, Lowell Blaine, brothers James, Billy, Bob (Ernest), and Carter; sisters Eula (Wagner) Belcher, and Juanita (Wagner) Waycaster. She is survived by her brother Franklin (Pete), sisters Mary Ann (Wagner) Taylor, Lucy Helen (Wagner) Hesse, and Nancy C (Wagner) Stark, son, Robert, daughter-in-law Diane (Johnson), grandsons, Robert, Marc, and Connor, and multiple nieces and nephews.
She said, near the end, that she had a good life and we were not to be sad. However, it is with deep sadness that we said farewell for the last time, but are thankful for time we had.
