Margaret Louise Davis

July 19, 1947 - September 18, 2023

Margaret “Meg” Davis of Menlo Park, California passed away at her home with her family on September 18th, 2023.

Meg was born in San Francisco on July 19th, 1947. She was adopted by Alfred Marsicano and Virginia Wardell Marsicano. She began a life-long love of learning at Crystal Springs High School and carried it on to Mills College where she studied history and political science and earned a degree in history.

She was a proud and passionate member of the Democratic Committee and it led her to political activism. Attending a political rally for congressman Leo Ryan in 1973, she met Paul Davis, an equally passionate Democrat from the other side of the country in Georgia. Leo Ryan won his first congressional race and Meg won the beginning of a 50 year marriage and started a beautiful family.

Meg devoted her time and passion to all the things that made her home beautiful and the center of her community; cooking, gardening, knitting, and raising her children. Her love and support of education continued in the work she contributed to her children’s schools first at St. Joseph and then at Sacred Heart in Atherton. She delighted in traveling from the Caribbean to Greece and Italy, all the way to China and countless vacations in Hawaii, but home always remained central.

She was first and foremost dedicated to being a mother. She loved her family and guiding and nurturing them. An exceptional and welcoming hostess, she loved to entertain in her home and organize events. She extended her maternal advice to everyone around her and was the soul of compassion and support.

She was the embodiment of the San Francisco Bay Area, proud Democrat, and a proud and passionate 49ers and Giants fan. She cultivated future generations of fans and family dedicated to progressive causes.
Late in life, through chance and happy accident, she discovered her extended biological family in the Bay Area and beyond and was thrilled to widen her circle of loved ones.

Meg is survived by her husband Paul, her daughter Ginny and son Jeff and Ginny’s husband (Paul Landshof), Jeff’s wife (Chrissie) and her two grandchildren Hannah and Nathan.
