The Endresen, Hardin and Skidmore Families are heartbroken to share the very sad news that Danny Ansgar Endresen, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed away the morning of November 3, 2023.
Danny was born on the 4th of July 1936 and was a self-described “firecracker.” We all agree. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Sigrun Mikalsen and Jens Endresen both from Norway and has a brother John Endresen (Jean).
Danny became a Marine at the age of 20 and he flew every aircraft the Marines had to offer. During that time he met Antoinette Richardson. They married and had 3 children (Linda, Sharon and Kevin). They lived in California, Florida, New York, Connecticut, Germany, Idaho and Maui, HI. After his years of military service, Danny was a pilot for Pan American Airlines for 27 years. He traveled the world and often brought his family along with him. When Pan Am went under he was hired by Delta where he spent the remainder of his career as an airline pilot.
Dan and Ann retired to McCall, ID and eventually started spending their winters in Lahaina, Maui. They had the honor and privilege of raising their grandson Zane in McCall. After Ann passed, Dan lived in Assisted Living in Boise, close to Zane and his family, for 3 years. In October 2023, he moved into an assisted living facility in Oregon to be close to his daughter Sharon.
Danny was a hard working, adventurous man. He loved to be your tour guide whenever you visited and he was really good at it too! He was passionate about tennis, loved skiing, tried some golf in his golden years and joined the McCall hiking club at 70 where he hiked for hours up and down steep mountains. He had very strong feelings about politics, was very frugal at times yet extremely generous at other times. He was very proud of his family and overjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dan was preceded in death by his son Kevin Endresen 2009, wife Ann Endresen 2018 and daughter Linda Endresen 2019.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon Endresen (David Skidmore), grandchildren Zane Hardin (Kaylee Hardin), Ronan Skidmore and Echo Skidmore and great grandsons Burley and Ruston Hardin.
His ashes, along with Ann and Linda’s ashes will be placed in the ocean off the coast of Maui to be with Kevin’s ashes which were placed there in 2009.
Danny's legacy is not only one of adventure and hard work but also of deep love and enduring connections. His passion for life, his unwavering love for his family, and his adventurous spirit will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
