Arnold Woods, 61, of San Francisco, sadly left us, on Dec 1, 2023.

Arnold received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, and then his law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He first served as an attorney in the Denver/Boulder area, but later moved to California and practiced law in the greater SF Bay Area.

Arnold was known for his historical research, podcasts, and articles for the Outside Lands online publication, which is part of the Western Neighborhoods Project (WNP) in San Francisco. He served on their board over a span of 24 years, recently as President of the Board.  People will also remember him in his early college years, for his broadcasts on the KALX Radio Station in Berkeley.

We appreciate the various tributes that have been posted online from college friends, KALX Radio Station, Boulder and San Francisco law groups, and the WNP.  Arnold was also recognized in memoriam at the San Francisco Board of Supervisors meeting on December 12th as they adjourned the meeting in his honor. This tribute reflects what a true treasure Arnold was for the city of San Francisco.

He is survived by his father, Murray Woods, mother, Janice Butler, and siblings: Larry Woods, Virginia Harris, Chris Clark, and Nicolas Woods.  

A memorial service will be held in Arnold’s honor at a later date.
