Sofia Dolores Quintana Hulbert, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023, at the age of 92 in Manteca, CA. Born on January 25, 1931, in Coyote, New Mexico, she was a woman of incredible strength and determination.
Sofie's life was defined by her unwavering generosity and tenacity. She faced every challenge with resilience and overcame them all, making her an inspiring role model for her loved ones. Her family was her top priority, not limited to her own children. Sofia provided shelter and support to many, always ready to lend a helping hand, even if it meant expressing her sometimes quite stubborn opinions.
Sofie had a passion for crossword puzzles, old western TV series, and musicals. These hobbies brought her joy and relaxation, allowing her to immerse herself in the mysteries of words, the excitement of the Wild West, and the enchantment of music.
Sofia will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her daughter, Donna Marie Hulbert Rice and son-in-law Scott Rice; her daughter Nancy Ann Hulbert Mueller, also known as Eldenath Semalda de Vilya and Eldenath's partner Jennifer Diane Reitz; her granddaughter Amber Joy Rice Redlick, grandson-in-law Matthew Redlick and great-granddaughter Lydia Anne Redlick as well as her granddaughter Kayla Marie Rice Fernandez. Sofia was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Victor Marjourou Hulbert; her father Medardo Quintana, her mother Fidelia Quintana, her sisters, Ramona Lombardi, Imelda Bohannon and Ida Ray; her brother Epiphano Quintana, and her daughter Vivian Ann Hulbert.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on December 10, 2023, and was attended by her large extended family and many lifelong friends. It was a time to honor Sofia's remarkable life and the lasting impact she had on all those fortunate enough to know her.
Sofie Hulbert's memory will forever be treasured by her loved ones, who will carry on her legacy of strength, determination and unwavering love for family.
