Hikmet “The Great One” Joseph Kose, 62, of Sacramento, California passed away in Kaiser Hospital on January 3, 2024.
Hikmet was born in Newark, New Jersey on November 11, 1961, to Hikmet Kose of Istanbul, Turkey, and Elaine Kose (Mirabella) of Newark, New Jersey. He attended Barringer High School in Newark, New Jersey and later in his life studied at American River College to complete his General Education. Hikmet then worked as a Hot Walker at the Hialeah Race Track in Hialeah, Florida, where he discovered a passion for horses. Some time after Hikmet ventured to the west coast and settled in California.
Hikmet enjoyed Star Trek, The Beatles, Kiss, World Of Warcraft, The Ghost Whisperer, Blue Bloods, storytelling, and having a good laugh. He was a proud member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish. His eccentric ways made him loved by those that surrounded him.
Although his health was not the best, he remained a pillar of light to his family and was not shy to turn a situation on its head for a laugh.
He is survived by his sister Suzan Kose, brother Deniz Kose, brother Omer Kose, nephews Branden Lee Mark, James Edward Curriston and Noah Adam Kose, and nieces Heather Lyn Anderson and Deniz Maria Kose and was predeceased by his parents Elaine and Hikmet Kose and his grandmother Cecilia Mirabella.
No services will be held for Hikmet Kose.
