Gary Mark Henry

February 13, 1965 - March 04, 2024

Coming into the world February 13th, 1965, Gary was blessed with adoptive parents, Harold and Edith Henry and siblings, Gail and Wayne Henry, who showered him with love in their Norwalk, California home.  The Henry's shared their love of Jesus, their church community of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Norwalk, friends, and their love and appreciation of God's beautiful wilderness through camping, hiking, backpacking into the forests like, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Forest, his favorite.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman from the age of two till the time his health changed his journey.  He was a dedicated member of Cub and Boy Scouts where he earned many awards, patches, and received silver moccasins for hiking the famous 53-mile trail with his hiking pack and achieved Eagle Scout culminating his journey within Boy Scouts of America.

A driver's license changed his focus to anything that moved with power.  Gary loved an afternoon of driving his beloved Toyota, 4-wheeling every mountain trail he could find. A favorite was taking romantic drives on bumpy trails and bringing pickup loads of snow home for his two favorite little faces, Andrew and Lacey Henry.   He loved working with boom trucks, driving water trucks and heavy equipment.

Gary & Barbara married in August 1987 and were blessed with charming children Andrew and Lacey.  They camped together, drove into the forests, laughed at Monster Truck Rallies, volunteered at Church & School events.  Gary was also a field trip parent, where he loved hanging with the kids, learning incredible nuggets of knowledge and sharing experiences with Andrew and Lacey.

By trade Gary was a signal technician and heavy equipment operator, but he had a book and tool for any project big or small, and loving to learn he was a jack of all trades!  If I could dream it up, he could build it, or fix, weld, and execute most anything!

Gary's laughter and curiosity will be with us forever!  Thank you for the love, kindness, and sympathy shared as we navigate without Gary.  We are blessed!
Thank you, Barbara, Andrew and Lacey Henry

Please consider donating to a National Park, planting a tree, or Visiting Gary's favorite place for an all-inspiring visit with God and Nature in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park in memory of him.
