Jean Carroll Davis

August 19, 0061 - April 17, 2024

Jean Carroll Davis (Carroll), was born in Saint Louis, Mo on the 19th of August 1961, and passed away at home in Watsonville, Ca on the 17th of April 2024. Carroll was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis- (ALS) a form of muscular dystrophy in 2020. She handled the disease with grace, dignity, honor, and humor. She left this world on her own terms, surrounded by all of her loved ones to the sounds of soulful house. Carroll was a kind, gentle soul who loved life, and lived it to its fullest. She will be deeply missed but our family finds comfort in knowing she is now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior.

Carroll and her family moved from Saint Louis, Missouri to Santa Cruz, California by train in 1966. At  five years old, that trip sparked her thirst for adventure and travel.

Carroll grew up in Scotts Valley, graduated from Harbor High school and upon graduation worked for various tech firms. Places like Plantronics, SCO and Applied Geometrics became her extended home and her coworkers became family. Carroll cherished every one of her friends and would tell the best stories about their adventures and travel. Most notably her trip to South East Asia and New York with friend Lisa Knight, exploring Texas with her partner Roy Aasen, visiting Ireland with friends Pati Murray and Collette Dalke and her last adventure to Palm Springs with friends Michelle McKinny, Lisa Knight and myself.  Aside from traveling she loved fashion, expensive shoes, and house music, she was an avid reader of mysteries and trashy novels and loved a good movie. She was witty, quick with advice and always had good one liners.

Carroll is survived by her partner Roy Aasen, sister Jacqueline Davis (Patrick Messinger), brother Steven Davis, half-brother Jerome Hall, niece Ashley Davis, (Yey Morales), nephew Joseph Dea, Step-daughter Brittney Del Bosque(Danny Del Bosque), Madison Aasen,  step son Justin Aasen and granddaughter Luna Del Bosque, and many, many friends.  Special thanks to Lisa Knight, Pati Murray, Michelle McKinny, Collette Dalke, Abra Flores  and everyone else who was there to celebrate and share stories with her these past weeks.

Carroll was preceded in death by her father Jesse Davis, mother Betty Roberts, step-father Tracy Roberts , half brother Rodney Davis and childhood friend Pam Dalke.

Special thanks to her caregivers; Dr Lisa Segnitz, Ann Robertson, RN  Hospice, Julie Scurish with ALS, Kim Neid, Leslie Garcia, Myisha Maxie, Roy Aasen and Ashley Davis.

No service is planned at this time, but we ask that you please donate to the ALS Society west coast chapter: https://alsnetwork.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/
