Chris Teeuwen

December 12, 1959 - May 05, 2024

Chris Teeuwen, 64, passed away in his home on May 5th, 2024, surrounded by family.

Chris was born in Lisse, the Netherlands, on December 12, 1959, to Nicolaas and Francisca Teeuwen. He attended the Instituut Sociale Wetenschappen in Leiden, the Netherlands, and the Instituut Sociale Wetenschappen. There, he earned certificates and degrees in international economics, financial management, cost structures, administration, management, and business.

For 15 years (1992-2007), Chris worked at Nike in various capacities, including managing director, general manager, and director of product acquisition. While working at Nike, he worked in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; the global headquarters in Portland, Oregon; Boston, Massachusetts; and Zhongshan, China. Chris started his own business from 2008-2013 and was the president and CEO of Expressive Labels Inc., dba NoSkinny. Noskinny was recognized when he was named runner-up for the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network's prestigious Tom Holce Entrepreneur of the Year Award. For 7 years, he worked as Director of Supply Chain at Wireless Service Provider. For the last 2 years, Chris worked as Vice President of Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain at Industrial Revolutuion, Inc.

Chris was a talented woodworker. He built furniture, clocks (an insane amount found throughout the house), and, recently, frames. He never hesitated to take a long road trip, often choosing to travel to state parks, forests, and the coast. He enjoyed walking the beaches on the Oregon Coast, one of his favorites being Cannon Beach. His favorite time to visit the coast was when it rained. As a hobby, he also built model planes. He loved to rewatch the amazing race countless times despite the rest of the household getting sick of it. His favorite team on the show was the Cowboys. Chris was often heard saying, "That's awesome," whenever he referred to his favorite things. Most of all, Chris loved spending time with his wife and daughters. Especially during the winter holiday season, watching Christmas Vacation and attending the Nutcracker.

Chris has lived on three different continents throughout his lifetime, forming deep connections with those around him. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

If you would like to honor Chris in some way, play his favorite album, Mozart: Requiem, while thinking of fond memories of him.

Chris is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carla Teeuwen, and his daughters, Iris and Renee Teeuwen, for whom he proudly claimed to be the world's greatest dad. Last but not least, he leaves behind his adored cats and dogs.
