Stanley Snowden Sr of Stockton, CA passed away in Lodi, CA on July 19th, 2024. Service are pending and will be conducted at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.

 

Stanley was born in Madera, CA on August 27, 1940, to Raymond Elton Snowden and Elizabeth Junaitia Gonzales. He left high school at 17 to join the Marine Corps. Stanley worked as a welder and factory worker after serving in the Marine Corps.

 

Stanley was a devoted husband of 60 years to Dolores Mercedes "Mercy" Snowden. He was an amazing father to three boys. Stanley was avid about teaching his boys baseball, football, and bowling. He became a baseball and bowling coach on his sons' teams. Even when he had to stop bowling himself, he went to watch all the boys bowl through adulthood along with all the grandchildren and great grandchildren that caught the bowling bug. He loved working on cars and shared that passion with his boys. His sons have fond memories of fishing, camping, and summer trips to Disneyland. Even last year, he loved going "fancy camping" in his son, Speedy's travel trailer. He was always taking care of everyone and loved being around the family. 
 

Stanley R Snowden Sr. is survived by his sons, Michael Snowden (Michelle) of Waxahachie TX and Stanley Snowden Jr (Desiree') of Spanaway WA along with grandchildren, John Snowden, Samantha Koontz, Amanda Vanderwalker, Maxx Snowden, Carolina Snowden, Brandon Snowden, and Matthew Snowden along with 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores Mercedes (Mercy) Snowden and son, Kenneth Gene Snowden.
