Terrie Lea Verotsky

December 11, 1949 - August 03, 2024

VEROTSKY- Terrie Lea, 74, Milwaukie, Oregon. Born December 11, 1949, and passed away August 3, 2024. Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Terrie was the only child of Edgar and Helen (Shubik) O’Connor. She spent her childhood surrounded by many beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

After graduating from Conemaugh Township High School in 1967, Terrie studied speech language pathology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She married Stephen J. Verotsky in 1973, and together they raised three children, Tara, Stephen and Tessa. Terrie lived the first 43 years of her life in Johnstown and struck out in 1993 for new adventures in North Carolina. From there on out, she was known to not let the grass grow under her feet for long and eventually settled in Milwaukie, Oregon. Terrie held many roles in her career. From inspired educator to dedicated administrator, she thrived on connecting with and helping others. Terrie imparted lessons of resilience and adaptability throughout her life and especially during her health challenges later in life.

After retiring in 2013, Terrie was devoted to her family and took great joy in being an active part of her grandchildren’s lives. Throughout her life, Terrie was a prolific baker and knitter. She always had a project underway for a friend or her family. Terrie is survived by her three children - Tara (Ben Snowden), Stephen, and Tessa. She is also loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Avery, Connor, Lucy and Evan.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Kate.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Terrie’s name to Rivers East Village (https://www.riverseastvillage.org)
