Barbara Kay Hathorn passed away at home on October 1, 2024 with family beside her. She was born on November 30, 1949 in Columbia, Missouri to Ross and Shirley Gerding. Barbara leaves behind three children, lovey joy (Steve), Melody, and David; siblings, Kris, Liz (Tom),  and Rex (Lori). In addition, barbara has several grand and great grandchildren, along with cousins nieces and nephews.
She loved animals, nature, reading, writing, poetry, her cats, and her family. Barbara loved to go to the beach. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ross and Shirley Gerding and baby brother William Karl. 
A memorial service will be held in a future date. Barbara’s ashes will be scattered with a tree where it can grow with nature. Where she loved to spend her time.  Donations can be made to food pantry at the Church Of The Open Arms UCC in OKC.
