Born on December 13, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Robert "Bob" Happ passed away on December 18, 2024, in San Francisco, California. The son of Frances Page Happ and James Happ, Sr., he had four siblings, Jimmy, Beth, Susie, and Tim. With his wife Patricia, Bob had three children, Colleen (Pete), Amy (Matt), and Brian (Sarah). He delighted in the antics of his grandchildren August, Louise, Desmond, Theo, and Gwen. His partner Lan traveled the world with him for many years, and her daughter Co, and her grandchildren Kobe and Chloe, were very special to him.
In 2001 he achieved the fly fisherman's dream and moved to Chiniak, Alaska. He made many friends in his community, and caught many fish. Until the end he was tying flies, hoping for another chance to bust out his rod.
Once he was diagnosed with colon cancer, he was surrounded by caring medical professionals, in Kodiak, Orange County, and San Francisco. Many thanks to all of the folks who cared for him.
