Rodney Lee Lamont Watkins

October 28, 1963 - December 09, 2024


Rodney Lee Lamont Watkins was born on October 28, 1963, in La Mesa, California.
During early childhood, playing water polo, swimming and surfing at Oceanside Beach
brought peace and fulfillment to his life. Rodney was married for 32 years to Tracy
Renee Watkins and resided in Murrieta, California. He is survived by his parents – Bill
and Lois Watkins; Sister Cora and Brother-in-law Dewey; His oldest daughter, Brooke
and son-in-law Zachary Sosnowski, along with their daughters Adelynn and Everleigh.
He is also survived by his youngest daughter, Bridgette and son-in-law Justin Rodriguez
with their children, Blake and Nova.
Rodney owned his plumbing business by the name of: Advanced Plumbing
Technologies for several years. He enjoyed water skiing in Lake Havasu, Arizona where
he spent most of the time vacationing with his family. Rodney also loved Great Dane’s,
NASCAR, traveling, BBQing porkchops and helping others stay strong in their faith.
For over 10 years, Rodney suffered from an Auto Immune Disease called Polymyositis,
a rare muscle condition which deteriorates the body at a very painful, rapid pace. Even
though he was in chronic pain every day, Rodney always kept a smile on his face and
went through his life with a positive attitude.
Rodney took his last breath in Murrieta, California on the evening of December 9, 2024,
where he was surrounded by his loved ones. His Celebration of Life will be held at
Community Christian Church in Hemet, CA where he attended regular Sunday services
since residing in Hemet the past 7 years.
The service will run from 10am-12pm in the Worship Center located at: 41762 Stetson
Avenue in Hemet, CA 92544 on the morning of January 18, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the
family is asking for donations to the Polymyositis Foundation or Community Christian
