Joseph Rocco Ferreri II

January 05, 1942 - January 02, 2025

Joseph Rocco Ferreri II, born on January 5, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Joseph Rocco Ferreri and Mary Ferreri, passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 2, 2025, just days shy of his 83rd birthday.

Joseph grew up in Cincinnati and joined the Navy at the age of 18. Though his service was cut short due to medical reasons, he carried a deep respect for veterans throughout his life. After leaving the Navy, Joseph attended barber school and briefly worked alongside his father as a barber. He later managed supper clubs in Ohio before moving to California in the 1970s, where he continued his career in restaurant management, opened his own restaurant, and transitioned into property management.

A natural entertainer, Joseph had a passion for singing and making people laugh. He formed a small entertainment group called "The Funtastics" with his second wife Evrita, his son Joseph III, and daughter-in-law Evi. His talents extended to acting, where he appeared in various television shows, commercials, and films. In his later years, he semi-retired to San Diego and devoted much of his time to entertaining seniors and veterans through music and comedy.

Joseph was a man of many talents—a self-taught chef with beloved specialty recipes, a skilled pool player, a semi-professional bowler, a special effects makeup artist, an actor, a singer, and a stand-up comedian. He loved riding horses and brought joy to everyone he met with his infectious smile and humor. Those who knew him will remember him as someone who never seemed to have a bad day and always made the world brighter.

Joseph is survived by his children: D'Angelo (Alyssa), Jonathan (Katrina), Jerald (Charissa), James (Regi), and Joseph III; grandchildren: Lisa, Joseph IV, Shawn, Christina, Alyssa, Dominic, Kayley, Jonathan Jr., Bri, Ashton, Boyd, Jesse, and Dani; great-grandchildren: Bryce, Austin, Luke, Maizelynn, Emma, Delaney, Benedict, Madeline, and Violet; and close family members Evrita Romero and Connie Tidrow.

A celebration of life is tentatively planned for Spring 2025. May Joseph’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
