 Obituary for Jason Cunningham

Jason Cunningham, born on February 2, 1966, passed away on January 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.

Jason was a man of great character—generous, compassionate, and full of life. From an early age, he had a natural ability to entertain and bring joy to those around him. As a child, he captivated friends, family, and even neighbors with his charm and humor. He had an infectious spirit that made him a beloved figure in his community.

A talented athlete and performer, Jason excelled in baseball and drama during his school years. His passion for storytelling and the stage was matched only by his strong sense of justice, which later led him to a successful career as a paralegal. He worked diligently, always willing to help those in need, and his intelligence and work ethic earned him great respect among his peers.

Jason was deeply loved by his family. He was a devoted son and extremely close to his mother. He was there for his father and checked in on him weekly the last couple of years before he passed. His parents  instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness. His close bond with his brother, Brett, was unbreakable—a friendship built on mutual respect, love, and shared memories. Above all, Jason was a loving father to Carly Elizabeth Cunningham, whom he cherished with all his heart. His love and devotion to his family were unwavering, and he always put their well-being first.

Jason’s warmth and charisma made him the kind of person people were naturally drawn to. He formed lifelong friendships, many of which remained strong despite the trials of life. His ability to connect with people, his strength, and his gentle nature made him a truly special person.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Shick Cunningham, brother, Brett Cunningham, his beloved daughter, Carly Elizabeth Cunningham, and his loving partner, Emily Lamb, as well as many friends and extended family members. Jason appreciated the love and support he received from long time friends Adam and Helen Ludvigson

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Paul Cunningham, His grandparents Alta and Robert Shick and Great Grandparents the McCombs and his daughters mother Valerie Ditto

Jason’s passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved him, but his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. He was a man of laughter, kindness, and great strength—a truly beautiful soul who touched so many lives.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Jason’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor. Special thanks to Paul and Kathleen Machle who employed Jason for many many years and was very good to him as well as donated a very generous gift to the family to help with his final arrangements.

Jason, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
