It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew Joseph Dwyer, on January 24, 2025, in his home in Berkeley, California. Matthew will forever be a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. Born on September 8, 1974, in Naples, Florida he grew up with boundless energy that filled every room he entered. His love for his children, family, friends & music was contagious. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with love and gratitude for the impact that he made on the world around him. Matthew is survived by his mother, Mary Alexis Hamilton, his father, John Patrick Dwyer, (Karen Dwyer), sister, Peg Dwyer, (Mark Adukiewicz), brothers, John Patrick Dwyer Jr., Daniel David Dwyer, half brother, Benjamin Dwyer, son, Ethan Greene, and daughter, Juniper Skye Stocksdale. Preceded in death by his first born son Judah Ryan Holt Bryndal. He will be deeply missed by so many including his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matthew made friendships easily and created connections and community far and wide. He lived an adventurous life, traveling across the USA many times. His love for the traveling brought him joy, creating memories, and friendships in every corner of the county. He embraced life, always seeking new experiences and appreciating the beauty of the world around him. He enjoyed bike riding to watch the sunset on San Francisco Bay and playing catch with his beloved dog. Matthew had an open heart and was always seeking connection and growth. His journey is remembered by the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the way he could light up the room with his amazing sense of humor and charm.
Matthew was deeply loved by his family and friends and his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. In his memory, we remember the kindness, generosity, and quick mindedness he shared and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
