Dock Berry Green Jr.

April 11, 1942 - March 04, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dock Berry Green, Jr., lovingly known as Dock Green Silverhawk, on March 4, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 11, 1942, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Dock lived a life filled with faith, family, music, and adventure.

Dock’s life was centered around his love for God, his family, and his passion for Native American flute music. He was known around the world for his incredible talent, winning the first nationwide flute players' competition at the Musical Echoes Native American Flute Festival in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He dedicated his gift to healing and ministry, serving as a chaplain at Tampa General Hospital, where he played the flute for heart and burn patients. Inspired by his work, doctors even named a medical device "The Silverhawk Device" in his honor, recognizing the healing power of his music.

A devoted man of faith, Dock ran a small Native American church in East Tampa for 20 years. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched countless lives. In addition to music, he was passionate about karate, horseback riding, walking and camping in the North Georgia Mountains, and spending time with his loved ones.

Above all, Dock cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Cindy Leppard Green; his siblings, Kevan Green (Gina) and Melanie Towner (John); his children, Holliann Miley (Don), Katrina Tejera (Robert), Bryan Green (Alicia), and Christopher Green; his grandchildren, Justin, Robby (Jessica), Jessica, Kaylen (Bryan), Angela (James), Reyna, Jenna, Hannah, and Brendan; and his six great-grandchildren.

Dock was also a lifelong animal lover, sharing his home with many pets over the years. His cherished companions included Violet, Bumper, Shadow, Chance, Prissy, Starbright, Mystique, Cody, and Spirit.

He was known for his infectious happiness, unwavering faith, and deep commitment to putting family first. Dock had a signature way of signing off conversations, often saying: "That’s incredible, That’s too cool, I’ll talk at you later. I love you." His humor and warmth will be missed by all who knew him—especially those who shared a laugh when he famously declared, "That champagne sucks."

In honor of his memory, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to any animal rescue organization, reflecting his love for both people and animals.

Dock Green Silverhawk’s legacy of love, music, and faith will continue to inspire generations to come.
