Preston Neil Nicholes, 70, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 in the company of family and friends. Preston was born on September 11, 1954 in Madras, Oregon to Bruce and Frances Nicholes. He is survived by his 6 brothers and sisters, daughter Kirsten (Jacob) Nye, and grandson Jude Nye.

 Growing up in Bend, Oregon, he spent many days skiing Mt. Bachelor.  He raced downhill.  He attended Southern Oregon University.  He worked in sales all his life, from selling cars, to selling fruit.  He was also an executive selling flowers in California.  He founded the Boss Fruit Company that sold apples and cherries in Caldwell.  His other passion was flying airplanes.  He was a glider tow pilot.  
Preston was a proud father and spent many years coaching his daughter’s softball team and traveling with his daughter to see landmarks all over Idaho, Oregon, and California. Most of all, Preston was a loving son, friend, and father, who would drop everything to support those he cared for.  
He will be buried at Canyon Hill Cemetery in the Nicholes family plot. Please join us for a memorial mass at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on Monday April 28th at 10AM. Following the service, there will be a reception in the church hall.
