Brent Ewart Greer

November 08, 1959 - March 03, 2025

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Brent Ewart Greer on March 3, 2025, at the age of 65 in Bonita Springs, Florida. Born on November 8, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio.  Brent graduated from Whetstone Sr. High and attended The Ohio State University.  Brent lived a life filled with knowledge, kindness, and adventurous spirit. He was known for his charismatic and gentle nature, always eager to engage in thoughtful conversation and help others whenever they needed guidance.  He will be missed by many who knew him.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Eldon and Margaret Greer; survived by his daughter Joan, her husband Ryan, and granddaughter; his brother Howard and his partner Brenna, nieces Abby and Rose; many cousins; and former fiancé, Lauren.

Brent had a deep love for American History, Ohio State Buckeyes football, journalism, hunting, kayaking, and Real Estate. He had a passion for music, and his curiosity and enthusiasm for life fueled many of his greatest experiences. Over the years, he served on several realty boards in both Ohio and Florida, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

In his spare time, Brent enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with the community when it came to gun safety. He was an NRA instructor and took pride in promoting safety and education in all ages. He and Joan would attend gun shows, safety fairs, and schools, to help educate young learners in a fun and engaging way.

He was a man of humor, wisdom, and generosity, ready to assist anyone who sought his help. He had two sayings; “History often repeats itself. It is up to us to learn from our history’s mistakes,” and “Because it is the right thing to do.” Brent raised his daughter using these philosophies. Even through his personal losses and struggles, he continued to push forward.

The extent of Brent’s health conditions was unknown to his family. They wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered friendship and support. His daughter is beyond grateful for the outpour of sincerity, love, and continued support for her and in memory of her father. In lieu of flowers, in Brent’s memory, donations may be made to The Neighborhood Health Clinic (Collier County, FL) and St. Matthew’s House (Collier County, FL) – for low income individuals who cannot afford healthcare, or may need a safe place to stay.

Brent will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and willingness to guide others. He was always ready to lend a hand, share a story, and embrace new experiences. The memory of his kindness and wisdom will live on in the many lives he touched.

A celebration of Brent’s life will be held at a later date.
