Carolyn Ball(Clamp) New

December 14, 1946 - December 25, 2025

Today we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Carolyn Grayce Ball(Clamp), a loving mother, grandmother, partner, and friend whose life was defined by kindness, quiet faith, and a deep devotion to her family.
Carolyn was born and raised in Santa Cruz California - a place she carried in her heart throughout her life, her family there for four generations. She was, at her core, a caring and giving women who always put others before herself. Those who knew her will remember her gentle spirit, and her warm smile, and her constant urge to help anyone in need.
Her greatest pride and joy were her three children: Sherry "Summer"  her twin sons George and Kenny. She raised them with unwavering love and strength, and they always knew - without question-that they were loved unconditionally.
Many in the community remember Carolyn from her years of hard work. She dedicated over ten years to working at Ferrell's Donuts on Mission Street, where her friendly nature made her a familiar and comforting face. She later spent more than 20 years selling at the flea market alongside her lifelong partner, Karen Huntsman, who proceeded her in death in 2008. Together they shared many happy years, especially selling her favorite beloved Golden Books, and toys and their linens and jewelry too.
Carolyn found joy in life simple but meaningful moments. She loved long walks along West Cliff Drive with her faithful dog Diego. She treasured trips to San Francisco, and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren. And anyone who knew Carolyn knew how much she loved Christmas-the music, the joy of the season, and especially the Disney Parade. It feels fitting, in a way that only love can explain, that she passed peacefully on Christmas night, surrounded by her family, George and Lisa by her side. We truly believe she held on to be with her family during her favorite time of year.
Just weeks before her passing, we celebrated her beautiful 79th Birthday- a memory we will hold close.
Carolyn fought a long and difficult battle with dementia, showing strength and quiet courage all the way to the end. Her family would like to extent heartfelt thanks to Sandor Health Care Hospice, especially Chanesse Vanover, whose endless compassion and dedication went far beyond her duties. She became not just a caregiver, but a true friend to Carolyn and to all of us.
Carolyn's life was marked by generosity and quiet faith. She was always the person who showed up, who helped, who gave- often without recognition and always without hesitation. Her love created a foundation that will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry Summer Harris, and son-in-law Michael Neiland; her twin sons Kenneth Clamp and George Clamp and his wife Lisa; where Carolyn spent her last seven years with, her grandchildren Kiara and her husband Ross and Kyle and Ashley, Triston, Mason and seven beautiful Great grandchildren.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing she is now resting in the arms of her Savior.
Mom, we love you to the moon and back. Your life was full of love and dedication, and your legacy of compassion and connection will continue to live on in each of us.
In honor of Carolyn's generosity spirit and her lifelong love of children and family, the family invites those who wish to their Local Boys & Girls Club, helping provide safe and supportive environments for youth.
Carolyn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered-always.
