Esther Lee (Gillis) born on October 28th, 1941 to Joe and Margaret "Peggy" Gillis (Rucker), passed away on May 2nd, 2026, aged 84, in Gresham, OR. She lived a life pursuing her love for animals (especially horses) and family. She is survived by her son Robert Lee and his wife Ruthann of Boring, OR, and many friends.

Ruth Sherman I knew Esther since 1985. She was a great catsitter and good friend. Esther had a way with all animals, and I called her the Cat Whisperer. Once I had a cat who was so shy, none of my friends ever saw her. When Esther catsat, I asked if she'd seen my kitty. It turns out that Esther charmed her and had her sitting on her lap the first day. Esther was always well-dressed and kind to others. I will miss her deeply.
