Lorraine Holford
Barbara Nell-King, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, passed away May 24, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion and grace.
Born on August 21, 1947 in Monterey, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Charles E. Holford and Anna Bell Taylor. Shortly after her birth, she was christened at St. Mary's Catholic Church, beginning a life grounded in faith, love, and family.
Barbara embraced life wholeheartedly and was blessed with many dear friends throughout California and beyond. She loved traveling, exploring new places, meeting new people, and sharing her warmth wherever she went. Known for her generous spirit and caring heart, Barbara was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She attended Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, where she earned certification in Medical Billing and Coding. Barbara dedicated many years of service to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center faithfully working there until her retirement in 2016.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her beautiful spirit, gentle kindness, and enduring love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
